Personality:

Kara is a true optimist. She believes that there is good hiding inside of everyone, and has an idealistic view of the universe. She wants to think that every person intrinsically wants to the right thing and just needs some help seeing it. Occasionally, this makes her come off as naive, but more often than not, it means she's open to alternative solutions that others haven't considered. She just wants to do the right thing.

Unfortunately, this sometimes means that Kara's kindness is taken advantage of or ill-returned. While this can anger her or upset her, she tries her best not to lose track of her core values while also not being played for a fool. She's not always successful in this venture, but luckily she has her sister and reliable friends to help anchor her. Collaborative and clever, Kara has very few qualms about relying on others for their insight, help, and support. Even if she were inclined toward solitude, which she certainly is not, she recognizes the uniques skills and talents of her confidantes.

Outside of the Supergirl persona, Kara is, frankly, a nerd. In some ways, she may over exaggerate her clumsiness and flightiness in order to help conceal her alternate identity. However, the best lies are based in truth. Kara is absolutely socially awkward and uncomfortable in romantic situations, harboring unrequited crushes and obliviously brushing off men who like her. She babbles when she's nervous and has a poor poker face, which is an unfortunate characteristic for someone with something to hide. Although she's competent as a superhero and in her personal and professional lives, Kara never loses the relatable aspect of social insecurity.

Hi, my name is Kara, and this is pretty exciting, huh? Being in space and stuff… It's really not an opportunity that people from Earth, of which I am one, get too often. I wonder, what's everyone's favorite part about being in space? I think mine is looking out into the expanse and wondering what else is out there and, like, what everyone calls the toast with the egg in the middle? Toad in a hole? Egg's nest? What if it's some really weird name like "cyclops wheat square"?

[ she laughs, snorting slightly ]

How strange would that be?
