[ they've been hit, and the glitch in the wave-rider made them actually cross the dimensional barrier! he shouldn't be happy about being hit, he really shouldn't, this is very serious business. the odds of the malfunction that brought them here occurring are 1:4.64X108. the good news: it makes it highly unlikely for anyone else to follow them. the bad news: it makes it highly unlikely they'll be able to recreate their circumstances and go back. even if they are able to cross the dimensional barrier, theoretically there are infinite universes out there - one for every slightly different decision every person on the planet has made in any given time, and all combinations of decisions - they could happen upon a dimension that isn't theirs and not even know it because the only thing that's changed is that professor stein decided to take an inconsequential day off in the 80s.

there are so many reasons for them to take it as seriously as anything can be taken. but negativity is so unproductive! who can mope around on the wave-rider when there's a whole universe out there to explore? rip implores them to please, please not destroy another dimension, they really don't have the time to put another world back together they're barely keeping theirs from falling faster, and not to make an impact. gideon knows nothing of this universe, and while it's learning, even a super computer from the future can't crack the future impacts of their actions here; she's a super computer, not a witch. she also can't tell them what dangers may lurk in the sunny looking city they've found themselves in, so rip warns caution and yes - weaponry.

and it's a good thing, because ray would not have predicted the scaly - is that a meta? - super strong - he's going with meta until proven otherwise, it's just easier - meta who's attacking the library he decided to separate from the rest to look into (parallel worlds could mean their scientific advancements surpass theirs! maybe they've cracked the code for trans-dimensional travel! it probably won't be in a public library, but then again - why wouldn't it be? ok, there are a lot of reasons. but maybe he could research where it might be!). with trained speed, he enlarges the atom suit and slips it on, soaring into the air. ]

Hey, pal, this is a library. [ he points towards the quiet please sign ] Take it outside, will you?

[ it never hurts to ask, right? the meta comes running right at him, jumping through the air and even though ray tries to duck out of his path - catches his foot and drags him downwards to fall in a messy heap. turns out asking? hurts a lot. ok. plan b.

blasting him with his lasers. ]

Library! Library!

[ maybe he hears her before he sees her, if he sees her at all. If he doesn't act quickly enough (which might be hard) he'll probably find himself suddenly in a different location, out of the path of the giant scaly monster alien thing. The blue and red blur is hard at work battling it (and dodging Palmer's lasers). She seems to be... flying? and lasers are happening somehow and... did she just full body tackle that thing to try to get it out of the library? She's trying to keep the damage small but. Meta lizard attack doesn't exactly encourage tidiness ]

[ he definitely did not see this coming. actually, he's not sure he's seeing it now - he thought he was used to watching people fight through the air - heck, he does it himself! but this - ~~bird? plane~~ woman? - fights like nothing he's seen before and he's seen a lot recently.

he doesn't have time to watch and wonder, though, because there's a lizard attack to thwart! he hits the button and instantly shrinks down and out of the (one ugly) meta's grasp. soaring through the air, he decides that at these speeds, maybe lasers aren't the best idea - he's not sure whose side the flying lady's on, but the rescue and the costume kind of make him think she's not on the side of evil, and shoot first ask questions later is more snart and rory's mo - so he rams himself against the meta, knocking the wind out of him. ]

[ the blow from this mysterious size-changing man gives Supergirl a chance to get in position to use her heat vision. Yes, that's right. laser eyes. And somehow she manages not to explode the tinder box they're in. Precision. She—they—need to contain their attacker, so she's hoping her new ally will have some ideas. Otherwise she'll grab him and fly him out of town. ]

[ ok that's awesome.

fortunately, ideas are kind of her new ally's forte. taking advantage of their opponent's vulnerability, he shoots highly concentrated rays at his knees, incapacitating him.

turning back to his normal size, he lands in front of him. ]

Next time, try less destroying, more reading - knowledge is power.

[ Kara will do... something... handwave... to bind the attacker up so she can take him to the DEO or somewhere. I've put a lot of thought into this. She smirks at her sudden ally ]

[ ray will be very properly impressed by the thing that kara does! ]

Actually just thought of it! [ he smiles at his ally excitedly, now finally taking her in. ] Thanks for the assist - [ he offers her his hand, before realizing whoops - guns still loaded - clicking them off and offering his hand again ]

I think you were assisting me.

[ shakes his hand after he puts the guns away ]

[ he shakes her hand firmly and enthusiastically ]

I'm Ray! I mean - the ATOM - [ do secret identities matter in an alternative dimension? oliver would probably say they do. lots of people are called ray, though! ] Who are you? Nice outfit - I have a friend who'd love to get his hands on it -

[ cisco would have a blast improving it but - that might have sounded like something else - ] I mean, improvements, he likes making super-suits - well not my kind of super suits - [ gesturing to the atom suit he has on ] your kind of super suits - hey, were those lasers coming out of your eyes?

[ she doesn't even know what to make of him. He's so... nerdy... then again, she is too. ]

Ahh -- [ they're not supposed to change things. rip was very clear about that - absolutely no making a mess out of this dimension.

but then again -- he just exposed his suit and took on a lizard man. pretty sure that's a lost cause. and besides, someone called 'supergirl' seems like a good ally to make! ]

[ if he were iffy about them, he wouldn't have made a suit that could fly! he lands neatly on the roof, raising his visor. ]

Great view up here - [ looking out at the sunny city - it reminds him a lot more of central than star city - and that's definitely to its credit. ]
